Welcome to Best Care Connected

Introducing . . .

Best Care Connected is an online professional development course that provides five hours of verified training through Traveling Arkansas’ Professional Pathways (TAPP). The course is developed and offered free of charge by the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service, in partnership with the AR Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education.

The topics for the 2012-2013 course are:

  • E-Professionalism
  • Be Wise about Portion Size
  • Safe Sleep for Babies
  • Caring for Children with Special Needs
  • The Inclusive Classroom

The 2012-2013 course is open from November 1, 2012 to June 1, 2013. To enroll visit: http://courses.uaex.edu

Here’s what you need to do to participate:

1. Log In
Visit courses.uaex.edu and log into your existing account or create a new account using the red login box at the left side of the screen. When you create a new account, a confirmation email will be sent to you. Check your junk mail folder since some emails are sent there. If you do not receive the email within 24 hours, call 501-671-2130 for help.

2. Register
Return to courses.uaex.edu and select the Best Care Connected 2012-2013. Read the instructions at the top of the screen and complete the registration form before trying to begin a lesson.

3. Start
Begin a lesson by clicking on the lesson title link. Note: There is a link to a text only version of the lesson if you want to print the lesson. Please read the information carefully, review the supplemental resources or videos, and complete the lesson quiz. You must make an 80% or above to pass the quiz.

4. Finish
Once you complete all five lessons and the evaluation, you may print your own certificate of completion. Continuing Education Units (CEU) are also available for a $10 fee. If you need CEUs, print a copy of the application on the course site located below the evaluation.
