Program 7. Strengthening Couple Relationships

"The marital relationship appears to serve as a primary source of support
for parenting." Marital satisfaction promotes good parenting.
1. Strong couple relationships are founded on commitment.
What are some ways you take time to build your relationship with your
partner?
Even in tough times we should make our marital relationship a priority.
How can you improve on making your marriage a priority?
2. Dwell on and encourage the good.
Some things are better left unsaid. It is important to remember that the
words you use make a difference. It is your choice to celebrate the good or
dwell on the bad in your partner.
In what way do you seek and encourage the good in your partner?
Think of the things that first attracted you to your spouse. Do you still
notice these qualities in your spouse? Do you have pictures or other
reminders that help you keep the good in mind?
3. Join qualities in a common cause.
How do you and your partner work with each other?
In what projects or causes might you join your efforts?
