What are my options of participation in GCS?

Guiding Children SuccessfullyThere are three ways an individual can participate in Guiding Children Successfully.

Option #1:  Check out a videotape from local county Cooperative Extension Office.

1.  Participant will check out one (1) video from the county office by pick-up only.

2.  Video will be due seven (7) days from checkout date.

  • If this is the first time a participant has checked out a Guiding Children Successfully video, a copy of the registration/contact information sheet will need to be completed.

3.  When participant is finished with the video he/she will return it to the county office. The participant must bring his/her learning check/evaluation form for check-in. The agent will then confirm receipt of the video near the bottom of the evaluation form, citing signature, tape number and date.

4.  It will be the participant’s responsibility to mail in the learning check/evaluation form to the state office. An addressed envelope will be provided to the participant once the video has been returned

  • If the participant does not want credit for the course, it will be the agent’s responsibility to send the evaluation. This will help us in the matter of capturing data on who is using the program.

Option #2: Download learning checks and evaluation forms.  Watch the programs as they are aired on AETN. The participant will mail in the learning check, evaluation, and registration to be scored and filed.

  • Certificates of completion will be mailed to participant if he/she has passed the learning check with a score of 80% or higher.

Option #3: Attend a group training that uses the Guiding Children Successfully program. If group training is necessary please contact the state office for further instruction and materials.

Telephone: 501-671-2103 or Email: gcs@uaex.edu

Certificates of completion will be mailed to participants upon receipt of evaluation forms at the state office.
