[Dr. LaVona Traywick] Once the cold weather sets in, the heaters kick on. If
your home or office is heated by gas or oil-burning furnaces, you need to be
aware of a few safety tips. Carbon Monoxide (CO) is an odorless, colorless gas
that kills without warning. It can’t be seen, smelled or heard, but carbon
monoxide poisoning can be stopped. To keep your family safe install battery
operated Carbon Monoxide detectors near every sleeping area, check the CO detectors regularly
to be sure they are functioning properly, and have your furnace inspected every
year.
