Nutrition and Your Health
Soy and Your Health

Soy protein and its isoflavones provide many health benefits. Studies indicate that regular intake of soy protein lowers blood lipids, especially LDL cholesterol and triglycerides. Research looks promising that eating soy may reduce the risk of prostate and breast cancers, may help prevent bone loss and might help relieve symptoms of menopause. We don't have a lot of answers yet on how soy protects our health, but more scientists are studying the health effects of soy than ever before. Until we know more it is always good to include a variety of foods in your diet. Soyfoods can be a healthy addition to a balanced diet. People at risk for estrogen-sensitive cancer should talk to their doctor before adding soy to their diets.

Select a topic of interest to find out more about soy and your health and how to put more soyfoods into your diet.
