Saving and Investing Money
Investment Tools

Bonds, stocks, and mutual funds are different investment forms. Your original investment may grow or lose value. While you invest the rate of return may vary, there are management requirements and tax consequences.

For a more in-depth discussion of investing, written for beginning and novice investors, you can enroll in the 11 part, Investing for Your Future, A Cooperative Extension System Basic Investing Home Study Course. See Unit 5: Fixed-Income Investing for a discussion of bonds; Unit 4: Equity Investing for more information on stocks; Unit 6: Investing in Mutual Funds for more information on mutual funds.
